Here's another great cartoon of The Tortoise and The Hare. If you search "Walt Disney: Silly Symphony" on YouTube you will find tons of resources for short videos to show the students. I love them because all I have to do is click and turn on my SmartBoard!

Week 6: Fight for Your Right! Ipad or the knock-off?
Well, we are getting a new headmaster this year and she is a technology guru! I'm thrilled because the first things she wants to implement is Ipads into every classroom! Our technology department is currently doing research on whether an Ipad or a newer droid would be better for us. Of course, I love all of the available research and ideas regarding the Ipad and apps available and I have not been able to find this in a droid. Does anyone have any suggestions of websites to research?
In the meantime, I have found this great website with lots of ideas of uses for the Ipad and music technology in general! I hope you find something useful!

Week 5: Interactive Music Website for Kids!
I love this website and it supports our local arts foundation in Dallas! They love to take tours of the Meyerson online as many of them have been there for concerts or performances.

Week 5: Pre-K Composing, You Don't Say?
Here's a great activity for Pre-K to begin composing their own songs! A friend of mine who crochets found this website and passed it on. Now I use it for Pre-K as a fun activity for "high and low." We are fortunate to have computers with headphones for every student in our lab, otherwise I couldn't imagine doing this activity!!! At the end of the time, we go around the room and each student takes a turn unplugging their headphones and we listen to their "composition". It's a great way to practice "high and low" and they are so proud of their very own song!

Week 4: Technically Challenged But Want to Record? Here's The Answer!
Ok, we all have the teacher in our school that runs screaming at anything technologically advanced. Heck, you might even be that teacher! Well, here's an inexpensive tool to help you on your journey! You literally turn it on and begin filming. When you are finished, you plug it into your computer USB and the software comes up. Follow the simple directions and you have yourself a video!
